Disclaimer
This is an inofficial firmware update for the use on the Linux platform. It is provided AS-IS without any warranty. The use of this software is on your own risk.
The firmware update will affect the hardware of your camera and may cause a failure of the device. Neither The Imaging Source nor the author of this software may be held responsible for the failure of the device when this update is applied.
If you need to apply a firmware update and want to retain full warranty from The Imaging Source, you need to contact the The Imaging Source support to get an officially supported update.
Important Note
As the cameras are not really USB Video Class compliant, newer versions of the camera firmware no longer announce the camera as UVC compliant to the operating system. Only the OBC models still announce themselfes as compliant since they provide an UVC compliant video stream.
After the update, the uvcvideo driver will no longer be able to find the camera so that the only way to access the camera on Linux will be to use the unicap euvccam_cpi driver. The windows driver provided by The Imaging Source will still be able to find the camera after the update.
